Palestine Ahliya University Seeks to Strengthen Cooperation with Permanent Qatari Committee for Jerusalem to Support Jerusalemite Students

As part of efforts to strengthen national partnerships supporting higher education, Prof. Imad Al-Zeer, President of Palestine Ahliya University, and Major General Bilal Al-Natsheh, Secretary-General of the National Popular Congress for Jerusalem, discussed ways to support Jerusalemite students during a university delegation visit to the Congress headquarters in Ramallah.

The university delegation included Jiries Abu Ghannam, President Assistant for Public Relations and International Affairs; and Mr. Khaled Shana’a, President Assistant for Community Development and Projects. Additionally, the meeting was attended by Colonel Muath Al-Ashhab, Director of the Secretary-General’s Office and Follow-up Officer, and Colonel Wasel Al-Khateeb, Head of the Media Department.

Major General Al-Natsheh welcomed the university delegation, praising Palestine Ahliya University’s prominent role in higher education and its efforts to empower and prepare students academically and professionally. He also affirmed the National Popular Congress for Jerusalem’s readiness to cooperate with the university in supporting Jerusalemite students and strengthening their resilience.

Prof. Imad Al-Zeer expressed his deep appreciation for the Congress’s efforts in supporting Palestinian higher education institutions, highlighting the importance of continuing this cooperation to provide scholarships and assistance for Jerusalemite students, enabling them to pursue their education with stability and confidence.

Prof. Al-Zeer also provided a brief overview of the university’s academic journey and development, highlighting its programs ranging from diploma, bachelor’s, and master’s degrees to doctoral studies. He noted the university’s recent achievements in global rankings, including placing 100th among Arab universities and 5th among Palestinian universities in the QS rankings.

The meeting concluded with an emphasis on the importance of strengthening cooperation and partnership between the university and the National Popular Congress for Jerusalem, to benefit students in Jerusalem and across Palestine.
