Palestine Ahliya University Signs Cooperation Agreement with Nablus University for Vocational and Technical Education

Palestine Ahliya University, represented by its President, Prof. Imad Al-Zeer, and Nablus University for Vocational and Technical Education, represented by its President, Prof. Derrar Alyan, signed a Memorandum of Understanding for academic and professional cooperation. The agreement was finalized during an official meeting held at Palestine Ahliya University in Bethlehem, as part of efforts to strengthen institutional partnerships and develop areas of joint collaboration between Palestinian universities.

The signing ceremony at Palestine Ahliya University was attended by Dr.  Faeyz Abuamria., Vice President for Academic Affairs; Dr. Ahmed Abdou, President Assistant for Planning and Development; Dr. Mahmoud Salahat, President Assistant for Administrative Affairs; and Mr. Jiries Abu Ghannam, President Assistant for Public Relations and International Affairs.

Representing Nablus University for Vocational and Technical Education were Dr. Issam Ayroot, Director of the Department of Media and International Relations; Dr. Laith Al-Halabi, Dean of Applied Scientific Research; and Dr. Jamil Al-Karableh, a faculty member in the Faculty of Engineering.

The Memorandum of Understanding aims to strengthen cooperation in academic and research fields, facilitate the exchange of expertise between the two institutions, implement joint training programs, and provide practical training opportunities for students from both universities. It also includes organizing workshops and scientific activities, contributing to the development of the educational process and aligning its outcomes with the needs of the labor market.

The agreement also provides for collaboration in implementing joint projects, exchanging faculty members, participating in conferences and scientific events, and working on the development of academic programs and institutional capacity building, particularly in the fields of vocational and technical education.

Prof. Imad Al-Zeer, President of Palestine Ahliya University, emphasized that signing this agreement aligns with the university’s vision to expand its national partnership network and enhance integration between academic and vocational/technical education. He noted that the collaboration with Nablus University for Vocational and Technical Education represents a qualitative addition that contributes to the development of educational programs and improves students’ readiness to enter the Palestinian labor market.

For his part, Prof. Derrar Alyan, President of Nablus University for Vocational and Technical Education, expressed appreciation for the cooperation with Palestine Ahliya University, emphasizing the importance of this memorandum in supporting the university’s strategic directions, enhancing the quality of vocational and technical education, and opening new opportunities for practical training and student qualification, benefiting both institutions and the local community.

At the end of the meeting, the delegation from Nablus University for Vocational and Technical Education conducted a tour of Palestine Ahliya University’s facilities, where they reviewed the academic programs, educational equipment, and infrastructure, praising the level of development achieved by the university.
