Palestine Ahliya University Hosts the 2026 Annual Career Day with Extensive Participation from Leading Companies and Institutions

Bethlehem – The Alumni and Training Unit at Palestine Ahliya University organized the 2026 Annual Career Day on the university campus, with the participation of more than 60 companies and institutions from various sectors, under the patronage and in the presence of Dr. Dawood Al-Zeer, Chairman of the Board of Trustees, and attended by Mohammad Taha, Governor of Bethlehem Governorate, and Prof. Imad Al-Zeer, President of Palestine Ahliya University, alongside representatives of the private sector, graduates, and university students. The event was supported by Bank of Palestine, the Palestinian Telecommunications Company – Jawwal, and Tamkeen Insurance Company.

In his speech, Professor Imad Al-Zeer, President of Palestine Ahliya University, emphasized that the Career Day represents one of the most important practical tools adopted by the university to bridge the gap between educational outcomes and labor market needs, noting that the university is continuously working to develop its academic programs in line with the rapidly changing demands of the labor market.

He added: “We do not limit ourselves to preparing students academically; rather, we are committed to professionally empowering them by providing real opportunities for direct engagement with employers and by developing their interview and communication skills, thereby enhancing their chances of securing high-quality employment opportunities.”

He further explained that this event aligns with the university’s vision of enhancing graduates’ employability and building strategic partnerships with various sectors, stressing that the Career Day provides a real-life applied environment that enables students to test their skills in a practical setting.

For his part, Mohammad Taha, Governor of Bethlehem Governorate, praised the university’s pioneering role, affirming that Palestine Ahliya University has become an advanced model in linking education with community development.

Taha also stated that “Organizing such events reflects a genuine awareness of the importance of investing in youth, and contributes to strengthening their economic and social resilience by opening new horizons for them in the labor market.”

He further added that strengthening the relationship between universities and the private sector constitutes a fundamental pillar in addressing unemployment challenges, particularly in light of the current economic conditions, emphasizing the importance of integrating the roles of educational institutions and employers.

In the sponsors’ remarks, Ms. Reem Qaraqe, Director of the Southern Region for Branches and Offices at Bank of Palestine, affirmed that the bank places great emphasis on supporting youth and graduates through initiatives aimed at enhancing their professional readiness.

She stated: “At Bank of Palestine, we believe that investing in youth is an investment in the future, and through our partnerships with universities, we strive to provide a supportive environment that helps graduates integrate into the labor market.”

She also added that participation in the Career Day comes as part of the bank’s commitment to its social responsibility and its efforts to strengthen cooperation with academic institutions to create sustainable opportunities for young people.

For his part, Dr. Dawood Al-Zeer, Chairman of the Board of Trustees, affirmed that the Career Day reflects the university’s strategic direction toward strengthening applied education and linking theoretical knowledge with practical reality, noting that Palestine Ahliya University strives to graduate students with highly competitive skills and the ability to adapt to technological and economic transformations.

He also added: “We are committed to building an integrated educational system that promotes innovation and entrepreneurship, and equips students with the necessary tools to succeed in an ever-changing work environment.”

He further emphasized the continued support of the Board of Trustees for all initiatives that contribute to developing students’ skills and enhancing their opportunities to secure high-quality employment.

The event also included a panel discussion that brought together representatives of participating companies and institutions with faculty members and field training supervisors, during which participants discussed ways to develop the skills required to keep pace with rapid technological transformations.

At the end of the Career Day, participating and supporting companies and institutions were honored, and commemorative plaques were awarded in recognition of their role in the success of the event and in enhancing employment opportunities for graduates.
