The Faculty of Law at Palestine Ahliya University is one of the most distinguished faculties of the University. Established in 2007, it was founded in response to the Palestinian society’s need for highly qualified legal professionals—both academically and practically—capable of upholding the principles of justice, freedom, the rule of law, and human rights. Over the course of more than seventeen years, the Faculty has earned a prominent reputation locally and regionally, with a record of academic achievements and developmental initiatives. Its graduates have assumed leadership positions in state institutions and civil society organizations, strengthening the Faculty’s role as a source of trust and pride for the University.
The Faculty offers a wide range of academic programs that adhere to the highest academic and professional standards. These include: the Diploma in Judicial Assistance, the Bachelor of Law (offered in both morning and evening programs), and the Master of Law with four specializations: Public Law, Private (Civil) Law, Business Law, and Sharia & Law. The Faculty has also initiated the accreditation procedures for a PhD program in Private Law with the Palestinian Ministry of Higher Education, reflecting its ambition to advance legal education in Palestine. Introduction to Islamic Law (151131)
This course deals with the definition of Islamic law as a source of law, a brief study of the sources of the Islamic law, it also deals with a general study to some Islamic jurisprudence theories, particularly the theory of contract, property, Penalties, sanctions and enforcement in Islamic law.

First Part deals with the general theory of law and its definition, its origin, characteristics, basis, branches, sources, interpretation and sphere of application. Part two deals with the general theory of right concerning its definition, types, persons, objects, sources, uses, and means of its protection.

The purpose of this course is to acquaint the students with the English legal terminology through the study of the Introduction to Law course.

During this course student will be familiar with various scientific research’s considerations at different colleges, and finally they will receive training on using technology for obtaining necessary references and resources.
Origins of Islamic Jurisprudence (210417)
This subject aims at giving an introduction and definition of the Islamic jurisprudence in matters of subjects, development and differences between this course and Islamic juristic schools. It studies the lawful principle, original and consequential proofs and the rules of references and process of deduction, formula implications, rules of interpretation (elucidation) branches and conditions.
Public International Law (210111)
This course deals with certain topics such as definition of public international law, the base of its obligation, sources and its relation with other branches of law. It studies the Personalities of international law, the state in view of its factors, and forms, and will the recognition of there. In addition, the course deals with international Treaties, state international responsibility, diplomatic protection and means of settlement of international disputes.
Civil Law (Sources of Obligation) (210230)

It deals with the five sources of obligation, namely contracts (in terms of definition, elements, conditions of conclusion, validity, interpretation, effects and dissolution of contract), unilateral act, (and the promise to give a prize), unlawful act (either the personal, tortuous acts on property and tortuous acts on human body), beneficial act (unjust enrichment, receiving what is not due, officiousness, settlement of dept. of another), and the law as a direct source of obligation.
Principles of Commercial Law (210120)
This course is concerned with the general principles of commercial law, its definition, origin, development, commercial acts, and merchants in terms of required conditions, and commercial capacity. It deals with the store, its elements and protection, commercial books, commercial registry, commercial contracts in general, commercial Pledge and agency by commission factors and brokers.

Constitutional Law and Political Systems(1) (210130)
This course deals with the general theory of constitutional law, definition, terminology, the application of its rules, in addition to the definition of the constitution and its relation with other branches of law. It deals with the regime and the political system of the state, the authorities of the state and the competence of each, and the fundamental rights of the citizens of the state and their guarantees. This leads to study the sources of the constitutional rule in its written and non- written aspects together with the types of constitutions, amendment and termination of the constitution. In addition to that, it studies the constitutional life, its development and the application of the constitution in Jordan.
Administrative Law (1) (210200)
This course deals with the general theory of administrative law, in terms of its concept, development, characteristics, sphere of application, resources, and its relation to other sciences and branches of law. It also addresses the Public administrative system, whether centralized or decentralized, delegation of powers, administrative activity and police power. It also examines the administrative system in Palestine. In addition, the administrative employments and displainary procedures will also be highlighted.
Commercial Law (Commercial Papers and Banking Transactions) (210334)
This course is divided into two parts: The first part deals with commercial securities, their definition, characteristics, historical evolution, unification of bills of exchange, notes and check. The second part deals with the commercial banks transaction accounts, banking facilities, especially deposits, current accounts, bank drafts, loans, discounts, documentary credit and bank warranties.
Crimes Against Persons (210231)
This course examines in depth some of criminal provisions, which are mentioned within the penal code, which are related to crime against the right to life that are mainly crimes of murder and crimes against moral such as fornication and raping These crimes are murder in all circumstances aggravated and mitigation. Criminal intent will also be examined regarding these crimes. Crimes committed against the wellbeing of human such as intentional harming will also be highlighted.
Civil and Commercial Procedures Law (1) (210361)
This course studies the definition of the law of civil procedures and its development, sources and its relation with other laws. It studies the machinery of justice in respect of courts structure instances of trial judicial officials and rules of jurisdiction, theory of action and its procedures in civil matters litigation
Civil and Commercial Procedures Law (2) (210362)
The Law of Civil and Commercial Procedure (Provisions and Methods of Appeal) This course includes the theory of judgment in terms of its concept, types of judgments, the substantive and formal requirements for judgments, their drafting and signing, and the consequences arising from them in terms of the legal positions of the parties, the nullity of judgments, their correction, notification, and depositing the judgment in the case file. It also includes the methods of appealing judgments in terms of judgments that can be appealed and final judgments that have conclusive authority, deadlines for appeal, and methods of appeal against judgments, whether through ordinary appeal (appeal) or through extraordinary appeal methods (cassation, retrial, or third-party objection), and the consequences arising from each.
Palestinian Political & Constitutional System (210340)
This course deals with the stages of development of political and constitutional system in Palestine It also studies government and its types together with the means of leading to make governments democratic and the participation of people in authority with special concentration on parliamentary democracy and its application in Palestine and above all it studies the organization of the governing authorities, their relations and the development of authority scopes, together with the interpreting theories in this field and the fundamental freedoms of the principle of equality political parties, election and the application of these matters in Palestine.
Criminal Procedure LAW (1) (210470)
This course deals with the definition of the law of criminal procedures and the public action in terms of commencement “bringing up” reasons of termination and its falling, action of civil personal rights as to its persons, conditions rules of jurisdiction, void and evidence. It studies criminal procedure in the process of investigation, elementary search, presumptions and trial, and finally it studies criminal judgment
Criminal Procedure LAW (2) (210471)
This course covers the procedural (practical) aspect of criminal procedures by explaining the nature and types of criminal judgments, their elements, and the conditions for their validity. It also addresses the different types of courts, their structures, and jurisdictions. Additionally, the course explores the theory of jurisdiction, nullity, execution challenges of criminal judgments, and trial procedures during the final investigation stage. Furthermore, the course provides knowledge on the methods of appealing criminal judgments, including ordinary methods (objection and appeal) and extraordinary methods (cassation and retrial). It clarifies which judgments can be appealed through ordinary means and which require extraordinary procedures. Additionally, the course examines the legal time frames for these procedures and the legal consequences of appealing such judgments.
Civil Law (Real Rights) (210410)
This course is concerned with the original real rights, i.e. right of property, its scope, means of protection, and limits imposed thereof, sorts of ownership, means of acquisition, some rights stemming from ownership: the right of benefit, the right of use and housing, the right of roof surface and the pre-emption rights, it also deals with collateral rights: mortgage, pledge, and the privileged rights in matters of formation, effects and termination of each of them.
Law of Personal Status (1) (Marriage and Divorce) (210304)
This study aims at studying the rules of marriage and divorce, both in law and in juristic Islamic opinions. This course introduces students to the principles and foundations of Administrative Law, focusing on the key aspects that regulate the relationship between public administration and individuals. The course begins with an examination of the civil service in terms of its organization, establishment, and job classification, while also addressing the civil service system, the concept of the public employee, conditions of appointment and selection methods, as well as employment status, rights, duties, and termination of service.
It then explores the concept of the administrative decision, including its nature, essential elements, and types, distinguishing it from other legal acts, in addition to its validity and termination. The course further introduces students to administrative contracts, their definition, essential elements, types, the legal framework governing their conclusion, and their legal effects.
Finally, the course covers the topic of public property, addressing its definition, modes of use—whether for public or private purposes—as well as the civil and criminal protection mechanisms provided for it.

This course studies land ownership in Palestine, beginning with the identification of types of land (private, public, endowment, abandoned, uncultivated, and state land) and their respective regulations. It explains how land is registered in the real estate registry, the process of land settlement by the state, and the registration of lands that were previously unregistered. The course also covers land classification based on its use and the building regulations related to it. Additionally, the course examines various transactions related to land, such as correcting names and records, lease transactions, surveying and measurement, registry inquiries, and valuation processes, among others. Anti-Corruption Law (210421)
This course studies the phenomenon of administrative and financial corruption, identifying the factors and manifestations of this issue, along with its various forms and types. It also focuses on the United Nations Convention against Corruption, which the Palestinian government has committed to, similar to any member state of the convention. The course further explores the legislative framework for combating corruption within the Palestinian legal system, specifically the Anti-Corruption Law No. 1 of 2005, which is now known as the Anti-Corruption Law No. 1 of 2005, as amended by Decree-Law No. 7 of 2010. Students will learn about the roles and powers of the Palestinian Anti-Corruption Commission and examine the legal challenges posed by corruption crimes, as well as methods of addressing these issues both under the United Nations Convention and Palestinian legislation.
