Strategic collaborations with local, national, and international health institutions to advance education, research, and sustainable healthcare delivery.
Introduction
Palestine Ahliya University (PAU) continues to strengthen its commitment to improving healthcare services, advancing medical education and research, and promoting public health through strategic collaborations with local, national, and international health institutions. By maintaining and expanding partnerships with hospitals, governmental bodies, non-governmental organizations, professional associations, and international organizations, the University supports health education, professional training, disease prevention, and community-based healthcare initiatives.
These collaborations contribute to enhancing the quality of healthcare education, facilitating knowledge and expertise exchange, supporting preventive health programs, and expanding access to health awareness and support services. Through these ongoing efforts, PAU seeks to improve health outcomes and contribute to the well-being and sustainable development of Palestinian society.

Academic and Professional Collaboration
Palestine Ahliya University has established a joint cooperation agreement with the Palestinian Nursing and Midwifery Association, including scholarship opportunities for association members. The agreement aims to strengthen cooperation in nursing education, professional training, and research, contributing to the development of qualified healthcare professionals and improving the quality of nursing education and practice.
The University also works with healthcare providers and professional associations to create practical learning opportunities for students, strengthen their professional competencies, and facilitate their engagement with the healthcare sector.
Community Health Awareness and Disease Prevention Initiatives
PAU continues to organize collaborative health awareness initiatives in partnership with healthcare institutions and community organizations, focusing on disease prevention, early detection, and healthy lifestyles.
One of these initiatives was the collaborative health awareness campaign titled “You Are Stronger Than Crises… Get Checked and Stay Reassured,” organized in partnership with the Palestinian Medical Relief Society and representatives of the Palestinian Ministry of Health.
The initiative included educational activities and awareness sessions addressing breast cancer prevention, early detection, and the importance of regular health examinations, encouraging community members to adopt preventive health practices.
Pink October – Breast Cancer Awarness Activities (2026)
In October 2026, Palestine Ahliya University organized breast cancer awareness activities in partnership with the Palestinian Medical Relief Society and Burj Alluqluq Social Center Society, with funding from the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA).
The initiative aimed to promote awareness of breast cancer prevention and early detection among students and university staff, while highlighting the importance of healthy nutrition, psychological support, and social well-being.
The activities included a specialized panel discussion featuring health and psychological professionals, addressing breast cancer awareness, early screening, healthy nutrition, and the psychological and social dimensions of health. University students also organized interactive educational stations in collaboration with the Youth-Friendly Health Center, the Faculty of Allied Medical Sciences, and the Faculty of Applied Sciences and Professions.
These activities strengthened cooperation between academic institutions, healthcare organizations, and community partners, while encouraging student participation in health education and preventive healthcare initiatives.
Youth-Friendly Health Center and Institutional Health Partnerships
The Youth-Friendly Health Center, “Sadeek Al-Shabab,” represents an important example of PAU’s ongoing collaboration with health institutions, particularly the Palestinian Medical Relief Society and the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA).
The Center provides comprehensive youth-friendly health, psychological, and social services in a safe, confidential, and inclusive environment. Its services include health consultations, psychological and social counseling, reproductive and sexual health education, nutritional guidance, disease prevention, and awareness activities.
Through this partnership, the University works to improve access to youth-friendly healthcare services, promote preventive health practices, and strengthen the capacity of young people to make informed decisions about their physical and mental well-being.
Emergency Preparedness and First Aid Training Partnerships
Through the Youth-Friendly Health Space (YFHS) Emergency Preparedness Program, launched in January 2025, Palestine Ahliya University has further strengthened its cooperation with specialized healthcare and emergency response institutions.
The program is implemented in collaboration with the Palestinian Medical Relief Society, the Palestinian Civil Defense, the Paramedics Syndicate, the Palestinian Ministry of Health, and UNFPA.
It provides students with accredited training in basic and advanced first aid, civil defense procedures, emergency response, and psychological first aid. The initiative also supports the development of student-led emergency response capacities and promotes a culture of preparedness and safety across the university campus.
During its first year, the program reached nearly 500 students and established a student first aid team of 16 active members, demonstrating the value of institutional partnerships in strengthening emergency preparedness and community resilience.
Contribution to Sustainable Development Goal 3
Through its continued cooperation with local, national, and international health institutions, Palestine Ahliya University demonstrates its commitment to advancing SDG 3: Good Health and Well-being.
These collaborations contribute to disease prevention and early detection (SDG 3.4), improving access to health information and services, promoting mental health and well-being, strengthening emergency preparedness, and developing the professional capacities of future healthcare practitioners.
By engaging academic staff, students, healthcare professionals, governmental institutions, civil society organizations, and international partners, PAU continues to translate institutional partnerships into practical initiatives that support healthier communities and sustainable healthcare development in Palestine.
