
Academic Collaboration: Palestine Ahliya University Signs Cooperation Agreement with An-Najah National University
H.E. Prof. Rami Al-Hamdallah, Vice Chairman of the Board of Trustees of An-Najah National University and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of An-Najah National University Hospital, received a high-level delegation from Palestine Ahliya University, in the presence of H.E. Prof. Abdel Naser Zaid, President of An-Najah National University.
The visiting delegation included H.E. Dr. Dawood Al-Zeer, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Palestine Ahliya University; Prof. Imad Al-Zeer, President of the University; Dr. Faeyz Abuamria., Vice President for Academic Affairs; and Mr. Jiries Abu Ghannam, President Assistant for Public Relations and International Affairs.
At the start of the meeting, H.E. Prof. Rami Al-Hamdallah emphasized that this visit reflects the importance of strengthening national partnerships among Palestinian universities, which serve as a fundamental pillar for advancing the higher education sector. He noted that institutional academic cooperation helps unify efforts, maximize the use of available resources, and develop scientific research and academic programs in line with national development priorities. He also added that An-Najah National University, through its Board of Trustees, is keen to support all initiatives that enhance integration among Palestinian higher education institutions and enable them to continue their leading role in serving the community and developing the Palestinian human capital.
During the meeting, H.E. Dr. Dawood Al-Zeer expressed his pride in An-Najah National University and its achievements in both local and global academic excellence, as well as its notable progress in international rankings. Al-Zeer also emphasized the deep relationship between the two universities, highlighting the strong academic partnership and integration that serve the Palestinian higher education sector.
A number of academic issues of mutual interest were discussed, along with ways to enhance cooperation between the two institutions. The discussions focused on advancing the educational process, promoting scientific research, and facilitating the exchange of academic and administrative expertise, with positive impacts for students as well as faculty and administrative staff at both universities.
For his part, Prof. Abdel Naser Zaid welcomed the visiting delegation, emphasizing An-Najah National University’s readiness to expand areas of cooperation with Palestinian universities in general, and with Palestine Ahliya University in particular. He noted that such collaboration contributes to advancing Palestinian higher education and enhancing the quality of its outcomes, especially in light of the challenges facing the higher education sector.
In turn, Prof. Imad Al-Zeer, President of Palestine Ahliya University, expressed his appreciation for the warm reception, emphasizing that this visit aligns with the university’s strategy to build effective partnerships with Palestinian universities and strengthen joint academic work. He also praised the distinguished academic and research standing of An-Najah National University.
At the end of the visit, a joint academic cooperation agreement was signed by the presidents of both universities. Both parties emphasized the importance of the agreement and expressed their commitment to maintaining ongoing communication and coordination, as well as ensuring the implementation of its provisions in a manner that serves the national educational mission and strengthens the standing of Palestinian universities.
