The Effects of Training and Development on Achieving Institutional Excellence of Pharmaceutical Company in Jordan
Abstract
The economic performance of the pharmaceutical industry and the rising rates of employee turnover within the pharmaceutical sector in Jordan have emerged as topics of concern. It is evident that management has yet to effectively address this matter. Previous studies have acknowledged that certain criteria have been identified as predictive determinants of institutional greatness. One aspect that can be considered is training and development. Numerous studies have examined the impact of human resource management (HRM) practices, such as development, training and selection, career growth development, and compensation systems, on institutional excellence across various regions including Europe, Africa, and America. Therefore, the present study aimed to fill a significant research vacuum by examining the influence of training and development on institutional excellence through the utilization of quantitative analysis. In order to do this, the present study utilized a cross-sectional research design. A self-administered questionnaire was distributed to a sample of 220 individuals who were randomly selected from the employee population of Amman Pharmaceutical Company Ltd. in Jordan. The data was analyzed using the Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) technique in IBM-SPSS-AMOS 25.0, and the hypothesis was subsequently tested. The study’s findings indicate that the impact of training and development is both beneficial and statistically significant (β = 0.500, P = 0.001). In general, the findings have underscored the significance of the influence of human resource management practices, namely training and development, on achieving institutional excellence. This relationship is crucial for institutions or organizations to attain success
