Palestine Ahliya University welcomes students from the Gaza Strip to continue their higher education through distance learning
In a move reflecting its national responsibility and solidarity with students from the Gaza Strip, Palestine Ahliya University in Bethlehem announced the commencement of the educational process for Gaza students to continue their university education electronically as visiting students.
In an official announcement, the university emphasized the importance of this step, which comes within the framework of supporting Palestinian students amidst the difficult circumstances faced by the sector due to the ongoing brutal aggression.
The university is keen on providing all forms of support and assistance to students from the Gaza Strip, emphasizing that they will not be burdened with any financial costs during their period of study as visiting students. Additionally, the university will provide them with necessary facilities to ensure a successful educational experience.
This national initiative comes within the efforts of the Palestinian Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research to resume the educational process in higher education institutions in the Gaza Strip. Its aim is to support students and assist them in continuing their higher education and achieving their academic goals.
The university indicates that this initiative is just the beginning, with hopes of continuing support and assistance for students in the sector. It aims for students to be able to return to their universities in the near future, and that this period will be a fruitful stage in their academic and professional journey.

On his part, the President of Palestine Ahliya University, Dr. Imad Al-Zeer, stated, ‘The university has commenced the process of distance learning for students from the Gaza Strip, where students from the sector have been able to attend electronic lectures along with their peers from different regions within the specializations offered by the university. We realize that education is the most powerful and effective weapon in building a strong and developed society. Therefore, we consider receiving students from the Gaza Strip and enabling them to continue their higher education not only a national and humanitarian duty but also part of our social and ethical responsibility.’
Al-Zeer added, “We believe that the youth are the future of our nation, and therefore, empowering them and providing them with the opportunity for higher education is an investment for a more stable and prosperous future for Palestine. Therefore, we are committed to provide a stimulating and innovative educational environment that enables students to develop their skills and acquire the necessary knowledge to achieve their academic and professional goals.
Al-Zeer also emphasized, “We are diligently striving to enhance the values of patriotism and belonging among our students, and we are working to guide them towards diligent work and effective contribution in building our beloved nation. Achieving academic success for students from the Gaza Strip is not only important for them personally but also a national issue that concerns us all as members of one society. We all seek to achieve our common aspirations in building a promising and prosperous future for Palestine and its devoted people.
