ملخص البحث
This research endeavours to investigate the influence of change management on crisis management within higher education institutions, with particular attention to the mediating effects of strategic planning and leadership style. Grounded in Complex Adaptive Systems theory, the study seeks to elucidate how these elements interact to bolster the efficacy of crisis management in the educational context. Data were gathered from 129 administrative personnel occupying key positions in higher education institutions through a quantitative research approach. The analysis employed Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modelling (PLS-SEM) to evaluate the proposed hypotheses and to explore the mediating roles of strategic planning and leadership style. The results corroborate the hypotheses, indicating that change management exerts a significant impact on crisis management, a relationship that is partially mediated by strategic planning and leadership style. The findings suggest that institutions adopting robust change management practices, alongside flexible strategic planning and adaptive leadership, are better positioned to manage crises effectively. Furthermore, the proposed model accounted for 54.1% of the variance in crisis management. This study is distinctive in its application of Complex Adaptive Systems theory to examine the interrelations among change management, strategic planning, and leadership style within the context of higher education crisis management. It also contributes to the literature by offering a model that deepens the understanding of the intricate nature of crisis management, providing valuable insights for educational institutions seeking to enhance their resilience and adaptive capacity.
