With hearts overwhelmed by profound sorrow and grief, the Palestine Ahliya University family extends its deepest condolences and heartfelt sympathies to our colleagues, Mr. Fahd Abu Haikal and his wife, Ms. Dania Salameh, members of the University’s academic staff, as well as to their esteemed family, following the tragic crime committed by the Israeli occupation forces against their family. This horrific incident occurred when their civilian vehicle, carrying members of their family, was deliberately targeted, resulting in the martyrdom of their seven-month-old infant son, Sam Fahd Abu Haikal, and causing severe injuries to both Mr. Fahd Abu Haikal and his wife, Ms. Dania Salameh.<\/p>
As we mourn the martyrdom of the infant, who lost his life as a victim of a crime that stands in stark violation of all humanitarian and moral values, as well as international laws and conventions, we express our strongest condemnation and denunciation of this heinous attack against innocent civilians. This tragic incident reflects the immense suffering and grave violations endured by the Palestinian people.<\/p>
We further affirm that the targeting of academic staff members in higher education institutions, as well as peaceful families and innocent children, constitutes a flagrant violation of all international norms, humanitarian principles, and legal conventions. Such acts demand a firm and decisive international response to halt these crimes and ensure that those responsible are held accountable.<\/p>
We pray to Almighty Allah to envelop the martyr child in His vast mercy and to grant him a place among the dwellers of Paradise. We also pray for the swift and full recovery of our colleague Fahd and his wife, and that He may grant their family and loved ones patience, strength, and solace in this time of profound grief.<\/p>
